Toy Story-Hamm and Mr. Potato Head Cake Pops

I made these cake pops for my son’s 2nd birthday party which was Toy Story themed.  They are the characters Hamm and Mr. Potato Head.

Mr. Potato head was chocolate cake dipped in peanut butter candy melts.  The arms are sticks, the hat is a Junior Mint, the shoes are gumballs, and the ears, eyes, mustache, and mouth are sprinkles.

Hamm was strawberry cake dipped into pink vanilla flavored candy melts.  The face decorations are icing, and there are sprinkles as ears under the coating.

Here are the cake pops again with the Buzz candle…

YUMMY!!! They were SOOO good. They were amazing-looking, too! You’re doing such a great job on these cakes.

These are the most amazing edible things I have ever seen!
I am going to do Finding Nemo for the boys’ 3rd birthday. Can you come up with a cute idea for topping cupcakes that I can do with Cake 1 class?

How did you shape the cake??

Comment by Brynn

You mix cake and icing together til it is all mixed well. Then you shape the mix into balls and put in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes. Then, you take them out and shape them into the shape you want. Because they’ve been frozen some, it is easier to put the balls into the shape you want without them falling apart.

Wow so cute! How did you get the junior mint & gum ball to stay on?

Comment by Mireida

You put a dab of the melted candy melts that you used to dip the cake balls onto the junior mint and gumballs then just hold it on the cake ball til it has dried enough to stat on its own.
